2nd Day in Honolulu

5/26/07: After a good nights sleep we decided to drive around the entire island in our convertible rental car to take in all the wonderful sights! We drove up to North Shore and stopped to look around as well as get a shave ice, yum! Frank took some pics of an old car that was pretty cool and we walked around checking out the local shops. It was interesting how different it was from California in its own way, yet some how a little bit the same. We purchased a beautiful sea shell and a hanging decoration made entirely of shells. We display both of them in our home today. =) It was such a beautiful drive and on the other side of the island it had a completely different climate from where our hotel was, in Waikiki. The other side of the island was plusher and cooler with a lot more denseness in trees and foliage. Although the island felt really big, it only took us about 4 hours to drive all the way around, plus stop to take in the sights! We really enjoyed ourselves, not a bad start for our 1st full day out on our honeymoon!

Arrival in Honolulu, HI

5/25/07: We arrived in Honolulu, HI at 12:01pm, picked up our rental car and headed straight for our hotel. We weren't able to check in right away, but we enjoyed driving around checking out the sights. Our hotel, Park Shore Waikiki, was right across the street from the beach and our room was overlooking the pool and we had a view of the beach! Once we were able to get into our room, we tried to take a nap, but discovering that our room was right next to the elevator made that a bit of a challenge. So after a short nap, we found out there was a Walmart in Waikiki so we went and purchased a fan for our room to drowned out any outside/hallway noises. The fan we got was so strong is sounded like a jet plane taking off, so needless to say it DEFINITELY drowned out ALL noises! We giggled because we figured the other guests could here it from the hallway and were probably wondering what in the heck that noise was! But no one complained, so it worked out well. Our initial idea was to purchase it, use it then return it before going home, but Frank decided he liked it and we ended up keeping it. =) We still have it today, and haven't used it again since Hawaii! Go figure, huh?
